Distinguished Fellows Award

The MEF proudly recognizes with sincere appreciation members whose outstanding contributions and generous leadership demonstrates a commitment to the execution of the MEF’s mission. As a volunteer organization, our success depends largely on contributors like these whose participation and expertise drive the MEF. The MEF Board of Directors recently approved a new Member Recognition Awards Program called the Distinquished Fellows Award as discussed below. This award is given annually to an individual who has contributed significantly to the MEF and the Carrier Ethernet industry over a long period of time and has demonstrated exceptional leadership within the MEF. This years award goes to... Important points about the program:

	A special plaque MEF email address Special logo for business card use and MEF business cards Lifetime ability to participate in MEF activities (perpetual member status) Special webpage on MEF public site with picture and bio Acknowledgement in a press release
	Nominations and Other Information:
	One person per year will be recognized. The award ceremony will take place annually at the MEF quarterly meeting in late January. Any MEF member can be nominated as a candidate to receive this award. This is not specific to any committee. Nominations can be made by any MEF member and should be made to the MEF COO Kevin Vachon at kevin@metroethernetforum.org on or before November 15, 2013. The nominations should include a maximum one-page narrative stating why the individual deserves to be chosen. A Nomination Committee will be formed, comprised of individuals making the nominations (if they elect to participate), a designated representative from the Board of Directors and any MEF member who would like to join the Nomination Committee. If you would like to join the committee, please email Kevin Vachon by November 15, 2013. The Nomination Committee will make a recommendation to the Board of Directors.
